Nick Gucher

Order does not disappear. It is only painted over.

I draw the geometry freehand — with masking tape, spatula and sponge. Nothing is measured. Over it comes what cannot be controlled: spatters from the brush, paint thrown by hand. While working, I develop a sense of the order that follows.

The rust is real. I let it form with oxidising agents and iron. I build the stretcher frames myself, from fir wood.
